Precinct Captain Duties

What it means to lead your precinct for the Putnam County Republican Executive Committee, and what we ask of you in return for the trust of your neighbors.

A Precinct Captain is a volunteer who serves as the Committee's get-out-the-vote leader and trusted point of contact for Republican voters in their own precinct. It is not an elected office, it's a role built on showing up for your neighbors. Below is exactly what the role involves.

  • Work to elect Republican candidates up and down the ballot

How You're Selected

  • This is a volunteer role, not an elected office. Interested Republicans reach out to the County Chairman directly and are matched to their home precinct
  • If a precinct doesn't have a captain yet, that's the first one we're looking to fill
  • Precinct Captains are confirmed by a vote of the Committee
03

Duties Within Your Precinct

  • Get to know the Republicans living in your precinct
  • Organize voters in your precinct and give them ways to get more involved
